How to Enable SSH Access in StackCP

Enable SSH access for secure command-line or SFTP access where your package supports it.

SSH gives command-line access to your hosting space and should be used carefully. Log in to StackCP and open SSH Access. Enable SSH for the required hosting package if the option is available. StackCP may show the SSH hostname, username, port, and authentication options. Copy these details into your SSH client or provide them to a trusted developer. Do not share your main account password. If keys are supported, using an SSH key is safer than password access. Only run commands you understand, because command-line mistakes can remove or change important files. Disable access when it is no longer needed, especially after a developer has finished work.
