How to Upload Music Files in AzuraCast
Step-by-step instructions for uploading music, organising folders and preparing tracks for automated broadcasting in AzuraCast.
Before AutoDJ can broadcast your station automatically, you need to upload audio into the AzuraCast media library. A well-organised media library saves time, improves scheduling and helps your station sound more professional. Log in at https://stream.onlineaudience.co.uk and choose the correct station before starting.
Step-by-step guide
- From the left sidebar, open Media, then choose Music Files.
- Create folders before uploading. Useful examples include Main Rotation, Jingles, Adverts, Interviews, Specialist Shows and Overnight.
- Open the folder where you want the files to go.
- Click Upload, or drag and drop MP3 or AAC files directly into the browser window.
- Keep the browser tab open until every upload has completed successfully.
- After upload, allow AzuraCast time to scan the files and read the artist, title, album and artwork metadata.
For SEO and public presentation, clean track names matter because many web players, mobile apps and stream pages display the currently playing artist and song title. Use good quality audio files and avoid uploading badly named files such as “track01-final-new.mp3”. If your library is large, upload in batches rather than trying to send everything at once. This makes it easier to spot failed uploads and keeps your folder structure neat from the beginning.
